Things took a turn once we got home. Somehow, I ended up opening Instagram — something I do maybe once every six months. And of course, I found a funny meme. Seeing me laugh my tummy off at something the average doom-scroller would barely frown at, my boi got inspired to show me his massive archive of absurd memes. We ended up laughing hysterically until midnight. I’m not proud of it, but hey! Great times, great abs workout. Still, I’m sad my brief pre-midnight streak is officially broken.

I woke up before 6:30 AM anyway. The whole reason I set wake-up time as the golden rule for this challenge was the hope that fixing my mornings would naturally reset my circadian rhythm. That doesn’t seem to be happening yet, though. But I’m still holding on to that hope.

It was also a moving day. I stared at the mountain view from the balcony a little longer than usual. Knowing we wouldn’t start our mornings with that majestic view anymore made me a bit sad. The sadness stacked neatly on top of the tiredness. Still, I went to the gym with my buddy in the morning and came back feeling better.

After yesterday’s breakfast, I decided to start skipping breakfast like I normally do at home, hoping it would keep me light and focused. That worked for… maybe an hour. Then I ended up having an extra-heavy lunch from the extra hunger. And wow, it absolutely crushed me. I was lagging so hard in the afternoon, it felt like I was about to crash like one of Elon’s failed rockets.

But after a long slacking session, I somehow regained a burst of energy. I managed to get some work done. I’ll soon head back to our new place and hopefully recover.
